The University of Derby Greece ULE provides a comprehensive range of student support services, available from the point of application through to graduation and beyond.

Academic Advisors offer individual consultations, either in person or online, to prospective students and their families. They provide detailed information on study programmes, institutional services, career pathways, tuition fees, and scholarship opportunities. Advisors also guide applicants through entry requirements, minimum admission criteria, and the application and scholarship procedures.

The Orientation and Induction Week is designed to familiarise new students with the principles of the UK higher education system, the structure and requirements of their chosen programme, the academic regulations of the parent university, and the University of Derby Greece ULE Student Handbook. Students are also introduced to learning resources, campus facilities, and available support services.

This unit coordinates the Student Affairs Office, International Office, Career Office, and Alumni Office:

  • Student Affairs Office
Responsible for student wellbeing and engagement, including accommodation support, student representation, personal and social matters, and the organisation of recreational, sporting, and volunteer activities, as well as student exchange programmes. It also facilitates communication between students at the branch campus and the parent university.
  • Career Office
Provides structured support for employability and professional development, including CV preparation, interview training, and access to internship and employment opportunities. It collaborates with industry partners to enhance career prospects and organises networking and career development events.
  • Alumni Office
Maintains ongoing engagement with graduates, tracking their academic and professional progression, and organising initiatives that strengthen the alumni network and reinforce the University community.
  • International Office
Supports international students with admission procedures, residence arrangements, accommodation, and integration into university life in Greece.

Academic staff maintain scheduled office hours during which students may seek guidance on academic progress, coursework, and assessment preparation. In line with institutional policy on continuous feedback, students are also permitted to submit draft work for informal academic feedback. Programme Leaders provide individual academic guidance on study progression, module selection, and academic regulations.

Each undergraduate student is assigned a Personal Academic Tutor from the academic staff. The tutor provides ongoing academic and pastoral support, contributing to students’ personal and professional development, and encouraging engagement, goal setting, and reflective practice.

The Counselling Centre offers psychological support to students experiencing personal or academic difficulties. Services include counselling sessions, wellbeing support, and tools to enhance emotional resilience, contributing to overall mental health and academic success.

The Academic Skills Centre supports the development of essential academic competencies, including research skills, academic writing, and time management. It delivers workshops and seminars and provides tailored support for students with specific learning needs through individualised study plans.

The Language Centre supports students in developing the language proficiency required for success in English-medium higher education. It offers courses in English language, academic writing, terminology, and general communication skills. The Centre also assesses incoming students’ language levels, places them accordingly, and provides supplementary instruction where required. In addition, it offers courses in other languages, including Russian, Chinese, and Spanish, as well as Greek language courses for international students.

English language provision embedded within undergraduate programmes is certified by the parent university and subject to rigorous quality assurance processes. Students develop discipline-specific academic language competence, enabling them to engage effectively with academic texts and meet the linguistic demands of their studies and future professional practice.

The IT Services department is responsible for the maintenance and support of the University’s technological infrastructure, including hardware, networks, and software systems. It provides assistance to students and academic staff during teaching hours, both on campus and via the central Helpdesk.
