The Faculty of Science & Technology at the University of Derby Greece provides a modern, technologically advanced environment for learning, research, and the practical application of scientific knowledge. The Faculty’s programmes combine academic rigour with a strong practical orientation, covering a broad spectrum of disciplines.

At full development, the Faculty will offer a wide range of programmes in Computer Science and Cyber Security, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Built Environment and Architecture, and Biosciences.

In line with the University’s research strategy, particular emphasis is placed on applied research, especially in engineering fields that promote sustainability and deliver positive societal impact, as well as in Computer Science, Network Security, and Data Science, reflecting the rapid technological advances shaping today’s world.

Vision & Mission

The School of Science & Technology at University of Derby Greece ULE aspires to become a leading hub for future technologies—technologies that empower humanity, respect the environment, and advance sustainable development.

Our mission is to nurture scientists and engineers who combine deep technical knowledge with innovation, leadership, and a commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. We aim to contribute actively to the advancement of science and technology for the benefit of society and the planet.

State-of-the-Art Facilities and Applied Learning

The Faculty features specialised Computer Science laboratories equipped with modern workstations and computing systems, certified Cisco Networking Labs for training in networks and cybersecurity, as well as Microsoft Azure laboratories for hands-on practice with virtual machines through cloud computing. In addition, High-Performance Computing (HPC) Laboratories operate for applications in data science, gaming, and machine learning, while specialised laboratory facilities for teaching and research in Artificial Intelligence are also being planned.

The Faculty’s medium-term development plan includes the creation of laboratories covering a broad spectrum of engineering applications, such as computer-aided design (CAD-CAM), machining and prototyping, materials technology and strength, fluid mechanics, metrology, and project management. The educational experience will extend to areas such as advanced manufacturing methods (CNC), renewable energy conversion systems, and experimental aerodynamics, integrating simulations and laboratory training under realistic conditions. The laboratories will be supported by modern software, automation technologies, high-precision measuring instruments, and specialised units, while education will be further enhanced through collaborations with certified external laboratories.

With the addition of programmes in the field of Biosciences, the Faculty will develop modern infrastructure including a fully equipped main laboratory space, supporting preparation and storage units, as well as core molecular biology and cell culture units, offering comprehensive practical training in real laboratory conditions.
