University of Derby Greece (UoD Greece) is a non-state, non-profit university operating as a Legal Entity for University Education (ULE) under Greek Law 5094/2024. Founded in 2025, UoD Greece ULE is the outcome of a long-standing partnership between Mediterranean College—Greece’s oldest private, English-speaking college (established in 1977)—and the University of Derby, UK.

This collaboration, which began in 2010, has grown into a strategic and multi-faceted academic alliance. The establishment of UoD Greece ULE as a university-level institution marks the natural next step in the evolution of this mature relationship.

A Trusted Academic Partnership
The University of Derby is the founding institution of UoD Greece ULE. It is consistently ranked among the UK’s top universities, both overall and across key areas such as teaching quality, student satisfaction, and graduate employability. It holds the prestigious TEF Gold rating for teaching excellence, awarded by the UK’s Office for Students.

UoD Greece ULE begins operations in the 2026–2027 academic year, with 3 Academic Faculties, 6 Academic Departments and 6 Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) Degree Programmes.

UoD Greece ULE operates from two modern, purpose-designed buildings located in the city centre of Athens. These facilities support both academic and administrative services. Our expansion plans include new educational spaces, state-of-the-art labs, and student residences.

The University offers programmes in English or in a bilingual format (Greek and English), supporting both local and international academic development, and reflecting our commitment to internationalisation.

Growth & Development
In the 2027–2028 academic year, UoD Greece ULE will launch postgraduate (Master’s) programmes, followed by lifelong learning in 2028-29 and doctoral (PhD) programmes in 2029–2030.

As part of our long-term strategic plan, we will also establish new departments in Engineering, AI & Data Science, Shipping & Maritime, Tourism & Hospitality, Rehabilitation Sciences, Health & Nutrition, Law & Politics.
