Showcasing Student Research Activity

As part of our strategy to strengthen the research culture, University of Derby Greece ULE annually organises, at the end of each academic year, an Interdisciplinary Student Conference. This conference serves as a platform for academic outreach, offering students the opportunity to present their research projects, exchange ideas, and engage in fruitful scientific dialogue within and beyond the university community.

The organisation of the conference encourages active student involvement throughout the entire research process: from formulating the research question and methodology to presenting and disseminating results.

Students from all academic Schools of UoD Greece ULE participate in the conference, representing a broad and dynamic range of scientific fields. The thematic sessions of the conference reflect UoD Greece’s interdisciplinary approach and are closely connected to the curricula, current social challenges, and the research interests of the students.

The conference programme includes:
• Oral presentations and poster sessions
• Roundtable discussions
• Contributions from faculty members, professionals, and researchers
• Awards for the best student presentations

Participation is open to graduates, undergraduate, and postgraduate students, with interdisciplinary collaboration and the formation of teams from different academic fields encouraged.

Through the conference, we:
• Highlight the research work of our students
• Strengthen communication, collaboration, and scientific presentation skills
• Promote excellence, innovation, and the practical linkage between research and education
• Build bridges between students, the academic community, and the labour market

The Student Conference is one of UoD Greece’s most important annual events and plays a decisive role in building a strong and sustainable research identity for both our students and the University as a whole.
